We were spoilt for choices on where to have our high tea session and finally decided to settle at Halia. A place which is more relaxed and closed to the greens. The good thing about Halia is that one could enjoy high tea in a lush greenery setting, away from the bustling city. Life is good, ya?
The high tea starts from 3pm to 5pm and Halia does not take reservation(s) during this time. There were not many people while we were there and we got a table fairly quickly. Now you would be heartened to know that apart from Botanic Gardens, the high tea is also available at the Raffles Hotel outlet. Hence, those whom prefer a centralized location may want to try the Halia at Raffles Hotel instead. However, we would go for the greens anytime. I was seated near the edge and happened to chance upon this snail on the leaf. Don’t you think It’s a luxury to have this kind of relaxed lifestyle?
The high tea set which is priced at $28++ per person, though not a buffet, I think it’s rather comprehensive. One is able to select coffee or any of the available tea in the menu. The photo being showcased here is a showcase of what is in there for the high tea set. (please note that this is for 2 pax) Do go to the website to have an overview of what is being served for the high tea.
Amongst all other things like scones, smoked salmon, there are pastries and cakes like macaroons, Green tea tiramisu and eclair. My favourite is the Macaroons, nice and creamy while not being too sweet.
Conclusion: For the top notch service and nice greenery, we thought this place is worth a visit. When the time allows, we will definitely considered coming back here again. Also of course, if the wallet allows…. LOL 😛
Verdict: 7/10
